Ten Inch Hero etc...
Hey guys! Just wanted to let you know that last night, a friend and I ventured out to the Newport Beach Film Festival to see Jensen's new movie
Ten Inch Hero.
I'm no Roger Ebert or anything but I have to say that I really enjoyed the film. It was well written, it looked beautiful, the chemistry of the cast was palpable and their performances were simply sparkling. The trio of leading ladies in the movie (
Elisabeth Harnois,
Danneel Harris and
Clea DuVall) did such a good job. I believed each of their performances.
John Doe plays "Trucker" - the father figure of the group - I really dug his storyline with
Alice Krige's character.
Sean Patrick Flannery and
Jordan Belfi are two guys I've seen from various roles (namely
Dead Zone and
Entourage, respectively) - they totally shined too. And of course there's Jensen who played a mohawked, sideburned, eyelinered character named Priestly. His performance was funny and endearing - and was so very unlike Dean Winchester - it was refreshing to see. The man brought the comedy but was also responsible for some "awww" moments too. The movie did a lot of little things right too - there's a running gag throughout the movie that has to do with somebody's wardrobe (I don't want to give anything away) - plus, I loved the way they used the music.
Hopefully
Ten Inch Hero will be able to quickly find distribution so everyone can see it sooner rather than later.
Now, a little
Supernatural business. In the latest TV Guide magazine (with
My Name Is Earl on the cover), there's a feature on next week's episode. But you can catch the article
here online as well. Just a heads up: it's spoilery.
And make sure to tune in tonight to the CW to see "Folsom Prison Blues." I'll meet you back here on Friday to discuss.
