May 16, 2007: “Everything Will Come to a Head”

Season finales make me wistful. The third part of a trilogy bringing Neve Campbell and Jason Priestley to the Dubois roost wrapped the season up nicely. I love when everything comes together and there are no loose ends.

This show, while not quite as fantastic as last week's, still held its own, especially when you consider Allison's special talents and the risks she had to take to solve the murder of her friend/enemy PD MacColl.

Everyone got a spot in this show - Manny, Scanlon and Lynn. Scanlon finally got some good scenes as well, and he and Lynn are back together. Those two are very on again, off again. Perhaps next season they might even have a subplot of their own.

Joe had another decent story line, losing his job because of Allison's newly exposed abilities, yet still loving his wife at the end of the day. What a guy! Clone him, please.

Manuel lost his job as well, but since Allison had his back, I'm sure it was only temporary.

Best Line:
PD/Debra came in third place while trying to get a rise out of Allison, shouting, "C'mon, Allison, I'm the devil you know."

Scanlon won runner-up with two tasty morsels. First, he tried to make Allison his co-conspirator in a little light crime against "Van Dick": "I'm headed out to go key his car, wanna come?" Then, when talking about the meeting he had to attend with the acting DA he said it was going to be some "truly inspirational ball-busting."

Jason Priestley beating up Neve Campbell was truly gruesome. Frankly, I found it worse than the head in the box.

Best Line:
But the top award goes to Allison, after Scanlon told her, "Your dreams are not evidence." When handing over the real evidence to Scanlon and putting Van Dyke in his place, she said, "You can thank me later." That was priceless.

So the good news is that Medium was renewed for next season. The bad news is that as of right now it is slated to air on Sundays against that show with the ladies of Wisteria Lane. Perhaps by the time September rolls around, the execs at NBC will have come to their senses. A lot of people would like to see it air after Heroes on Mondays. That's a pretty smart idea. Maybe I'll get a petition going. Would you sign?
