Our Top Ten Dancers Are Revealed
Hi all. I'm cat sitting and the internet connection there is down. Sorry for the delay.
______
Cat is looking hot in her little form fitting black number. I'm not crazy about the big black flower in her hair but everything else is working for me.
The group dance is a bit of a throw back to
Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo days. I like it. Very interesting play on light and dark. Gev gets a place of prominence in tonight's dance and I have to say I like it. Thanks go to Tabitha and Napoleon for that piece.
Before we learn which couples are in the bottom three Nigel shares very exciting news about Robert and Phillip. There will be a battle during the finale. I cannot wait. It's going to be so cool. I'm sure our minds will be completely blown.
So were my predictions last night correct? Not exactly:
Comfort & Thayne dancing for their lives. I don't think this is a surprise to anyone.
Katee & Joshua Safe. They'd have to have two horribly executed routines to end up in the bottom.
Jessica & Will dancing for their lives. The Quick Step really did kill them. No surprise here.
Chelsie & Mark Safe. I think they won't get into trouble until they're broken up. We'll see how they dance with other partners.
Courtney & Gev Safe. I'm surprised but happy. I liked both of their pieces last night.
Kherington & Twitch dancing for their lives. I'm surprised but I think America absolutely got it right. Their Smooth Waltz was mediocre and while most of their Krump routine was amazing, the end just wasn't good.
The featured musical performers are Clifton Bran, Jamar Roberts, and Korvin J Body from the
Alvin Ailey Dancing Troup. They perform a piece called "Revelations." They are pretty amazing. They move across the stage so well and their technique is amazing to watch. I'm always impressed by the way professional dancers can move their bodies and these guys are a real joy to watch, it's like they defy gravity. I love their body control. To be able to do those fast turns and step out of them with such control is so much harder than it looks. Loved it.
Solos:
Comfort Tonight, she shows us exactly why she's in this competition. I think she's a little unfocused in the beginning why is she walking across the stage when she could be performing across it? But after the little opening bit, she's really great.
Thayne He has great technique and I've always thought he's a great emotional dancer. He gives us a lot of himself tonight.
Jessica She's proven that she's got the talent, but she's so inconsistent in her performances. Tonight, she once again shows us she's got the technique. I'm just not sure she's showcasing it properly. I don't know if she's really connecting with the audience.
Will His piece is strange and utterly amazing. He doesn't deserve to be in the bottom three. It's a joy to see his solo, but the two times he's had to dance for his life, he's more than proven that he is one of this competition's best dancers.
Kherington She is a joy to watch. It's so easy to feel her joy when she's dancing. Her tricks show off her talent. Nice job.
Twitch He is so much fun to watch. I love how he uses the music to highlight his choreography. He absolutely proves to me that he should stay in this competition.
This week's musical guest is Katy Perry performing "I Kissed a Girl." Love the song. Don't love that she has no back-up dancers, so I fast forward through it.
Results:
Kherington: Reminded everyone she's more than a pretty face. She dances brilliantly.
Comfort Nigel congratulates her on her solo. She pulled it out.
Jessica The judges are somewhat disappointed with her solo and are often disappointed with her performances she usually has one good and one bad.
Comfort is being sent home. She calls the show the best experience she's ever had. She thinks the remaining dancers are beautiful dancers.
Twitch Nigel is glad he's in the bottom. It wakes everyone up and reminds them to vote. Seeing his solo gives us an opportunity to see his unique style and musicality.
Will He wouldn't be out of place with the Alvin Ailey dancers. His work is superb.
Thayne This week, they would have liked to keep all the guys and send 2 girls home. He's superb. His work is excellent and Mia will be working with him.
Thayne is being sent home. He says this experience has been amazing.
Thoughts? Reactions? I really like both Comfort and Thayne, but it's their time to go. I think it would have been very interesting, though, to see Comfort and Jessica sent home and all three guys remain. Oh well.
Oh, and why does Cat keep saying the decision tonight was difficult? Sorry Comfort and Thayne, but it wasn't.
Next week, the judges hand the reigns completely over to us. They'll no longer make the decisions about going home it's all up to us. I hope you'll be voting. I know I will.
Got any thoughts on who will win it all this year?
Vote here.
