Boob pads?
Oh sure, I know there are gel inserts a lady can pop into her dress to make her look bigger than she is, but I've never really heard them called "boob pads" before. Has Melissa R. been using boob pads this whole time, but not tonight? Has she been duping me this whole time? And how many other girls on the show are doing it? Any of the actual Pussycat Dolls? Eh, it's not like I'm getting to see them after the show, so I guess it really doesn't matter as long as these enhancements make the girls look sexy. Mikey seemed to be interested in these enlargers, too. "If I had boobs, it would make me feel more feminine." Mikey, buddy, that's one thing you definitely don't need to be.
I'm sorry to be touting my girl Chelsea every week here, but I love watching this semi-feud between her and Melissa S. I don't know if I get what Melissa was saying with "if there were two of Chelsea." The girls seemed a little confused themselves, though no matter what was meant by the remark, Chelsea knew it wasn't positive. I loved Melissa's little confession later: "I didn't want her to actually hear it." Well, you were sitting directly across from her, so you might want to stop and think about that next time. But the devious part of me chuckles when I see Chelsea almost laughing anytime the judges go hard on Melissa S. The girls who are left certainly aren't the friendliest gang, are they?
Let's talk about the other Melissa now. R. wins the immunity this week and she was good on stage, but there was such a mixed message being given off. Robin said numerous times how the girls had to be absolutely perfect, yet Melissa R. had a few little false starts even before getting on stage. So how did she win it? She might have been the best dancer, but she wasn't perfect.
For this week's performance we finally got to see all the girls performing together. Seeing them together really made Anastacia's flaws shine through. She clearly looks different than the other girls, and she sounds quite different, too. When Anastacia sings a line right after another girl, the whole dynamic shifts. She's got a much heavier and huskier voice than the other ladies. That's not to say it's not sexy, it's just different than the remaining girls. While that makes her the unique one of the bunch, I'm still not sure that being unique is necessary what this show is looking for. That said, oooooo weeeeeee! That burlesque show was hot. All five of the girls looked very sexy up there. Chelsea can perform for me any day of the week. That girl has it goin' on. The girls seemed to be mocking her for getting the swing because it required no dancing. But she worked what she was given. I only had two real issues with the whole thing: Anastacia really did sound quite bad coming in her second time, and Asia can't stop moving her fingers. I fully admit that I didn't notice this about Asia until the judges pointed it out during last week's episode, but unfortunately, it's now very distracting. I wasn't listening to her, I was watching her fingers (and I'm sure that's what the camera was directing me to as well).
I'm a little shocked that Anastacia didn't make it to the final show, but she's been down on herself lately so it seems like she peaked two weeks ago anyway. After the judges talk this week, it looks like Melissa R. has the inside track to be the next Pussycat Doll.
Until next week, friends.
