"A Little Romance, a Little Sex"
It's about time! It took four episodes to finally get to the most important topic of the year, sex! And it's happening on this week's episode of
Hotel Babylon. I must admit, my initial impression of Anna was not favorable, but she is beginning to grow on me in that slimy, foot-fungus kind of way. The entire episode was pretty much based around her thinking she had some sort of "special connection," with a rich and questionably handsome lawyer. She does her best to throw herself at him in hopes of getting his attention, which he inevitably succumbs to (big surprise). The most amusing part is Anna's attempt to hide her "secret liaison" from Rebecca (keep in mind that staff can't date guests). Anna goes back and forth the entire night trying to cover her tracks, with Ben on the lookout, and she inevitably sleeps with the lawyer (another big surprise). She wakes up the next morning to discover $500 sitting on the table, waiting to be taken. The only downside to this is... the man she slept with thinks she's a hooker (I hate it when that happens). After much contemplation, Anna takes the money just to later discover that the lawyer didn't leave it for her, he was just emptying his pockets. Lucky her, she got wined and dinedm and got a new $500 bag to boot.
Other notable storylines include:
Charlie is subtly seduced by a seemingly young and attractive woman married to an old drunk guy. We later find out she is the girlfriend of Pete (the shady chauffeur who's been blackmailing Charlie).
Jackie and Charlie finally come to that "what are we" stage when their relationship is threatened by sexual temptation. Jackie goes on a date with some rich guy, Charlie gets jealous, and they agree to exclusively see each other (no fun).
Rebecca's husband makes an appearance (yay!). We find out that she did indeed cheat (which makes me feel less sympathetic), but she's making attempts at a fresh start.
