Did Mrs. Petrelli Join the Other Fallen Heroes?

Can Mrs. Petrelli be saved? Cristine Rose by Trae Patton/NBC

Episode Recap: "Lizards"

Warning. This is your SPOILER ALERT! If you have not watched this week's episode, please do not read this blog/recap until you do . . .

Leapin' regenerating lizards! I jumped out of my seat at the end of the show and did a happy dance. This episode was all about the heroes we know, love and have missed!

We knew Peter survived. We also knew he got a haircut and lost his memory. Does "the box" really hold his past? I'm glad to see he still has all of his powers. When Caitlin was washing off his blood, I thought, "Why hasn't he healed yet?" And then: ta-da! The blood was gone and no marks remained.

I was surprised to see that Mr. Nakamura's death made California news. Did that shock anyone else? I know the guy was a big time CEO in Japan, but he was murdered in New York and I don't see why his death was front page news in Cali (maybe because the west coast is closer to Japan?) - but I'm glad it did, because now Mr. Bennet is on a new mission: find the remaining seven paintings. Apparently Isaac Mendez left us with more artwork.

We learned last week that there were eight remaining members of The Company. Now that Mr. Nakamura is gone, there are only seven. Isaac painted a prediction for each remaining member. But if Mr. Bennet had the painting that predicted Mr. Nakamura's death, why didn't he try to prevent it? Maybe he wasn't sure if the painting would actually be correct, or maybe he didn't want to draw attention to Claire. I've always liked Noah Bennet. I know he hasn't always followed the right leaders, but in the end, he only wants what's best for his family, especially Claire. No one can deny that he is trying to be a great father.

Speaking of The Company, we got to see the Haitian again! I missed him! At first, I didn't know if Mohinder had had his memory erased or if it was all a part of a plan. I'm so glad to see Mohinder, Mr. Bennet and the Haitian working together. They will make a great team. All of them are intelligent, loyal and good. I know the word "good" may seem small, but its meaning stands for so much when its put up against that other small word: evil.

We don't know much about our new heroes, Maya and Alejandro. We've seen that Maya's power basically sucks. For real: Worst. Power. Ever. She thinks she is cursed, but in truth, I think her power can be used in different ways. She just doesn't know how to control it yet. And the only force that can keep her "cursed" power at bay is her twin brother. Let's hope they don't get separated again! Also, I like that they are trying to cross the border. The point of this show is accepting others and their differences. I'm not trying to be political, but I understand where the writers are going. Heroes are not just in the United States - obviously, we've seen that before - but Maya and Alejandro will show that it is not always easy to get to the "free world." Not everyone can just jump on a jet and land at the JFK airport.

Let's move on to a lighter subject: Hiro! Or should I call him Takezo Kensei? Many people who commented last week hit the blade on the sword when they predicted that Hiro would become the Japanese legend Kensei. Or, at least help mold the "scary white man" into him!

Masi Oka does a fantastic job as Hiro. Every scene is enjoyable - especially when the swordsman's daughter waited for a kiss from her "hero." Maybe he wanted to kiss her, but feared he'd mess up the Kensei legends. However, I noticed his face as she waited for that kiss - it made me think of Charlie, back at the diner, from Season 1. He never got to kiss her, did he? Poor Hiro. Poor Masi.

Whoa, after going through my notes on Maya, Alejandro and Hiro's scenes, I apologize if I left anything out. Taking notes and reading subtitles at the same time is no easy task!

On to Mrs. Petrelli (who may have had sexual relations with Mr. Nakamura! Whaaaat?). Why do I like her so much? She's so not a good person! But I don't want her to die! Maybe it's because she has most of the answers we want. Matt read her thoughts and that lady knows her stuff. She read him without having mind-reading power. The "GET OUT OF MY HEAD!" part was awesome! And what or who tried to kill her? Also, did every former member of The Company use the "symbol" for their own personal businesses? I know we've seen it since the pilot episode, but it has become much more prominent this season.

And to end the show . . . let's cut off our pinkie toes! When Claire was sitting in class and her teacher mentioned the appendix, wisdom teeth and not needing a pinkie toe for balance, I stood up and tried to experiment. It's basically impossible to do (unless you're Claire), because I was not willing to cut off my toe. Besides, my superhero power is not regeneration ;). Were you scared at first? When Claire gracefully cut off her toe? I was. I started shouting, "Grow back! Grow back!" Thank goodness it did! Then she saw her flying stalker, and now it's study time with the first Dr. Suresh!
