Love My Way

Remember last week when I was hating on Paige and her selfish/needy ways? If you're a fan of Paige... you may want to stop reading this now. There is so much more hating left to do.

This week Paige returned home just in time to stir up some drama for all the friends she left behind to attend Banting. Spinner, Alex and Ellie would have been a whole lot better off if Paige stayed at Banting and kept her little panic attacks to herself. Sure, I picked up on the parallels between Emma's presentation in Simpson's class and Paige's actions during this episode but I don't buy it. If Paige had met new love interests rather than playing with the hearts of her own and her new roommate's exes, it could have been justified. However, she made all the wrong choices and (surprise, surprise) it blew up in her face by the end of the half hour. At least she has a place to live and a great new gig as manager of Jimmy's T-shirt company. Now onto some interesting story... I'm a bit Paiged-out.

Emma was finally ready (and sober enough) to take the next step with Sean. Her little run-in with Snake at the pharmacy was hysterically awkward and I loved how she was completely up front about it rather than trying to hide it and sneak around. The fact that her mom made the wrong choices regarding this issue back in the '80s ( Degrassi Junior High) made it so fitting that it would be Emma who questioned the double standard women face when it comes to sex nearly 20 years later. In Snake's defense though, no father or step-father should be subjected to a PowerPoint presentation of his daughter ogling a half-naked boy. He can still be accepting of Emma as a sexual being without being confronted with the pictorial evidence.

The week's drama escalated with Alex finally confronting Paige about her lingering feelings. It seems like Alex is really coming into her own this season and not taking anyone's BS, especially Paige's. And after last week's kiss, it's clear that Paige has some unfinished business with Alex as well. And yet, once again Paige disappoints by not admitting to her own feelings and running back into The Dot to meet up with the guys. I'm so over her! I hope she's nowhere to be found in next week's Marco-centric episode.
