Eviction 1

Hi, Big Brother fans! Sorry I am a little late to the game, but I am so psyched to be taking over this blog. I know I have big shoes to full since Angel has done an amazing job. I hope I am up to the task, but I can tell you that I am a big fan of the show and count it among my favorite summer addictions.

I am going to be blogging every Thursday night after the eviction. I'll do my best to comment on all the interesting developments, but one thing is for sure: I would love to hear everything you have to say about the show, so please keep the comments coming. If you are going to post any spoilery information, please be sure to give proper warning.

So even though I haven't been blogging, I have been watching. Here's who I like so far: Eric (America's Player), Amber, Nick, Daniele, Jameka and Dustin. I think Eric is extremely charismatic and I love the idea of a "mole"-type player in the house. Amber tugs at the heartstrings and I think she is a gamer. The others? Well, let's just say that I haven't found any of them nearly as annoying as some of the other guests. Even though I don't see any potential Janelles or Kaysars (what up, Kaysar?) in this crew, they will certainly keep me interested.

So far, I am completely intrigued with the dynamic between Evil Dick and his daughter Daniele. The first episode was very emotional and so much more resonant than the failed Nakomis-Cowboy family reunion could have ever hoped to be. There is real dramatic potential with these two, though I am concerned about Daniele's physical appearance. If TV adds 10 pounds, someone better get that girl a cheeseburger soon.

Here is who I simply cannot stand: Jessica and Jen. The sooner these two girls go, the better. The beef between Carol and Jessica is just so baseless and just plain high school. It is pathetic, and frankly, I find Carol to be much more palatable than Jessica. Hopefully we will be able to say, "See you at the reunion," to Jessica in the coming weeks.

Where do I even start with Jen? The ridiculous, immature, narcissistic emotional breakdown about the picture? Lying about Nick kissing her in a jealous fit over Daniele? The Jen-uinely stupid T-shirts? What were the producers even thinking with this one?

I am on the fence with Kail, though I do find her game intriguing. My first impression was that she wouldn't last five minutes. Then, suddenly, she wins head of household and forms the first alliance - Mrs. Robinson and her boys. (Not nearly as catchy as the Nerd Herd, but it will do.) I give the secretly rich multi-business owner credit for displaying some savvy early on. Let's see if she can maintain that momentum.

One thing is for damn sure - there are some hot men this season. I will start with Nick because, frankly, the guy is gorgeous - chiseled, athletic - and sporting the coolest-looking tattoo I've ever seen. The moment I saw him, I knew he would gravitate toward Daniele, though I got a kick out of the entire segment that showed him describing, in chronological order, his favorite women to flirt with in the house. Meanwhile, Mike and Zach are basically interchangeable to me. They better develop some presence soon or they'll be sailing right out the front door.

As for Joe, say it ain't so. Please say it is not possible that one man could stir up so much trouble with so little effort. I think his flair for the overly dramatic will end up being his downfall while nemesis Dustin, who, so far, has come off as a much more subdued, mature and thoughtful player, will glide on by.

Getting to tonight's action, I was glad that Amber was spared, though I was surprised by the vote being so overwhelmingly in her favor. The one problem I have with the TV episodes is that they are so heavily edited and incongruous that actually trying to piece together the atmosphere in the house and the consensus is really tricky. As for the HOH competition, in what parallel universe did Jen manage to outwit her competition? I wouldn't be surprised if someone talks her into putting herself up for nomination. Now that's a trick I'd love to see Eric pull off.

OK guys, that is it for tonight. I'm looking forward to a great summer of Big Brother intrigue. Please keep the posts coming and keep reading!
