November 13, 2006: Later, Lisa

Well, it's finally down to the last two girls, and it looks like Lorenzo has a really tough decision on his hands. I really like both Sadie and Jen, and I honestly have no idea whom he's going to pick. Watching Lorenzo when he's alone with Sadie makes me think it's obviously her; but, on the other hand, I just can't trust the way this show is edited. That makes me wonder if it's Jen, because we haven't seen as much of her. She also had the first overnight date, so I have to wonder if it was Lorenzo's choice to have his favorite go first, or if he saved the best (Sadie) for last.

And speaking of the overnight dates, I was confused by Sadie's meltdown over the fantasy-suite decision. I don't know where she got the idea that spending the night with Lorenzo meant she must have sex with Lorenzo. It's a suite - I'm sure if you didn't feel comfortable sharing a bed, he could have found somewhere else to sleep. At least go up there and enjoy the little time you have together. There are other things to do - hmm, like talk perhaps, that wouldn't require Sadie to give up her values.

And could they throw the virgin card around any more? We get it, she's a virgin. And not just avirgin, she's the virgin, as when Chris Harrison said, "Will the virgin accept the fantasy-suite card?" when giving us a sneak peek at upcoming scenes of the episode. If she doesn't win this thing in two weeks, I guarantee ABC will snatch her up for the next Bachelorette. I can see it now: The Bachelorette: The Virgin. I'm not trying to diss Sadie here, I do really like her. And I like that Lorenzo likes her. I just think the producers need to tone it down just a bit!

But who am I kidding here, this is the show that makes girls do such absurd things that you sit there with your jaw dropped in disbelief. While I do miss the drunken fools of past episodes, Lisa takes the prize tonight for the worst date. I couldn't believe that she was going on about how sleazy the past bachelors have been - "Travis was hot but a total tool, seriously" - and that she fell in love with one guy while still dating another. Whatever connection Lorenzo and Lisa made on the first night has definitely disappeared, so I was a little surprised when he invited her up to the fantasy suite and started making out with her. Wait, I take it back - he didn't exactly invite her. He pulled the card from his pocket, and she said yes before he even got the chance. I was, however, not surprised that she didn't get a rose tonight. And is it mean of me that I was a little amused when she didn't? Hey, at least she got a nice pair of diamond earrings and a free trip to Rome out of all of this.

While Jen and Lorenzo's date at the amusement park and the awesome ice bar (now on my list of places I must visit in my lifetime!) looked like so much fun, I thought Sadie and Lorenzo's scuba diving in a pool was really lame! Yes, it was cute for them to swim around holding hands and then rip off their masks to kiss, but, come on, why put on all that gear and call it diving when you're paddling around in a pool? It's hard to deny the chemistry between Lorenzo and Sadie no matter what they're doing, but, again, I'm still not counting Jen out. Lorenzo seemed to really start falling for her tonight and was happy to hear that she was willing to move to New York for him.

Well, may the best lady win! Who's it going to be?
