Debut: Life aboard the USS Nimitz during the aircraft carrier's six-month deployment to the Persian Gulf is seen through the eyes of some of the ship's 5000-member crew. First up: The Nimitz sails from Coronado, Cal., in May 2005. Also: a look at the onboard communities, including "shooters," who give the signals to launch the aircraft; "ordies" (ordnance personnel); and F/A-18 Hornet pilots, who fly with the Black Aces, Hoboes, and the Marines' Red Devils.
