Episode Synopsis: When Addison discovers that a disturbed pregnant patient has lost her baby, Violet must convince her that the baby has died and that she needs surgery. Meanwhile, Cooper must tell a patient he must remove part of his jaw because of a fast-growing cancer; Dell copes with the absence of his daughter after his ex moves for a new job; and Sam and Addison must suppress feelings for two unattainable people. Premise: A 'Grey's Anatomy' spin-off focusing on neonatal surgeon Addison Forbes Montgomery, who has left Seattle Grace and moved to L.A., where she practices at the upscale Oceanside Wellness Clinic. Colleagues include her divorced medical-school friends Naomi and Sam Bennett, as well as pediatrician Cooper Freedman, psychiatrist Violet Turner and Dr. Pete Wilder, who specializes in alternative medicine.
