Premise: The sharkish inner workings of the TV industry, centering on a brash female programming executive who's confronted with a variety of obstacles, most notably ruthless male colleagues. Partially inspired by the 1976 film `Network,' starring Faye Dunaway, whose role in the movie was said to have been based on series producer Lin Bolen, NBC's former daytime programming chief.
