Christopher Reeve (1952-2004) is remembered. The actor first turned heads when he was cast as the Man of Steel in the 1978 film “Superman: The Movie”; and also found success on Broadway. In 1995, however, a riding accident left him paralyzed from the neck down. He became an inspiration to many for his courageous efforts to overcome the disability; and was a proponent of embryonic stem-cell research.
