Premise: World War II antics involving the Red Ball Express, the Army's predominantly black supply corps stationed in France. The men of the 5050th Quartermaster Trucking Company, led by Capt. Calvelli, delivered perishable and other time-sensitive supplies to the front. The series was based on a real-life unit.
