Premise: Innovative cult fave about a reporter and his computer-generated alter ego in a futuristic society in which TV sets can't be turned off. The title character originated on a music-video show in England, but takes on a whole new life in this series that's enjoyable on several levels. Most satisfyingly, `Max' is a caustic sendup of the medium, but it's also an imaginative foray into science fiction and an old-fashioned, good guys vs. bad guys tale.
