Author Frank McCourt reads excerpts from “Angela's Ashes,” accompanied by music from the movie's score, conducted by its composer, Boston Pops laureate conductor John Williams. Cellist Yo-Yo Ma is featured in the segment, and also accompanies Broadway's Patti LuPone on “Unexpressed.” Other LuPone selections include “Let Go,” “Peel Me a Grape,” “Being Alive” and “Never Never Land.” The Pops also performs excerpts from Williams' score to the movie “Far and Away.”
