Premise: A suburban police commissioner is soft with co-workers but hard on criminals in this easy-to-take series. Star Michael Chiklis would shed the Commish's everyman image, along with quite a few pounds, when he took the role of (and won an Emmy for playing) the troubled, rule-bending Vic Mackey in `The Shield.'
