Episode Detail: An American Love Story: It's My Job - American Playhouse

“An American Love Story,” Part 9 of 10. Cicily's home after graduation, looking for a job and “doing nothing.” It leaves her depressed. Meanwhile, Bill's career is foundering and Karen begins to worry about his drinking. “Deep down I wanted to stop,” Bill remembers, “but I was afraid to.” It took a blow-up with Cicily and another trip to Marion to overcome his fear.
