“An American Love Story,” Part 8 of 10. “Marion Truth” follows Bill to his home town, Marion, Ohio--- “to reap what I have sewn,” he says. Alton, his son from an earlier relationship, is in trouble with the law. “Most people in Marion are just trying to survive,” Bill observes. One such person is his daughter, Tina (“She was born the weekend I met Karen,” he recalls). As for his childhood friends, “a lot [of them] are dead or in prison,” he sighs. “It could have happened to me.”
