“An American Love Story,” a 10-part profile of an interracial family, follows blues musician Bill Sims, his wife Karen Wilson, a corporate administrator, and their daughters Cicily and Chaney, from 1992 through '94. The Wilson-Sims family lives in Queens, N.Y., but Part 1---titled “Welcome to America”---follows them upstate, where Cicily is a student at predominantly white Colgate University. “They all hate me,” sighs Cicily, who laments what she says is her difficulty “fitting in.” Produced and directed by Jennifer Fox (“Beirut: The Last Home Movie”).
