Episode Detail: Drive-Ins - Unwrapped
American drive-ins are toured, beginning with the Texas-based Pig Stand, which originated curbside service in 1921. Other eateries visited include the Varsity in Atlanta, where hot dogs served from a conveyer belt; the Sonic chain, where the roving waitstaff delivers fast food in less than four minutes; and Jack in the Box, which opened the first drive-thru window in 1951. Also: vintage intermission films from drive-in movies.
