From 1997: Harry Belafonte discusses the barriers he had to break through as a black man in the entertainment industry during a trip with his family to the Jamaican village of Abuka in celebration of his 70th birthday. Included is a look at Belafonte's first TV appearance in 1953 on “The Ed Sullivan Show,” as well as footage from 1968's controversial variety-show performance with white singer Petula Clark.
