Episode Detail: Numbers '2' - Teletubbies

Tinky Winky makes two rectangles and the Noo-Noo counts to two. In India, children demonstrate the number two using apples, babies, candles, balls, cotton candy, horses, red buses and (oh yes) numbers. And in Teletubbyland, the Tubbies dance a bumps-a-daisy dance. Then Tinky Winky wakes up up the others by singing a loud song. It's so loud, in fact, that Dipsy, Laa-Laa and Po run away. Then Po sings a quiet song, which puts them back to sleep again.

Premise: A portly quartet of playful creatures who live and learn in Teletubbyland is the focus of this live-action program developed by former teacher Anne Wood for younger children. The series became an unlikely subject for controversy when, in 1998, Rev. Jerry Falwell criticized it for promoting a `gay agenda' by having one character carry a bag that resembled a purse. That storm passed quickly, and the show's continued success prompted Wood to create another children's series, `Boobah.'
