Episode Detail: Five Easy Pieces - Killer Instinct

Hale and his new partner, Det. Danielle Carter (Kristin Lehman), track the killer of a young woman whose eyes were removed. But the killer was no ordinary sadist: the victim was sedated before her eyes were taken. Then a man's body is found---without his liver. Meanwhile, Hale confronts Lt. Cavanaugh (Chi McBride), about his short-lived partnership with Det. Lyford.

Premise: Cases involving the San Francisco Police Department's Deviant Crime Unit. Brooding Det. Jack Hale is terrific at nabbing wackos, but has a mysterious dark side that complements the grisly, depraved murders he and his partner, Danielle Carter, must probe. In fact, Hale's first partner in the show, Ava Lyford, was a department plant who was actually investigating him. But she left after the pilot episode, when the actress who played her (Marguerite Moreau) was written out of the cast.
