Debut: A six-part cosmic thriller about a nun and a Harvard professor (Natascha McElhone, Bill Pullman) who probe signs that “the end of days” is at hand. In the opener, they include a shadow of a crucifix on a Mexican mountain, an infant who (miraculously, it seems) survives a shipwreck and strange utterances in Latin from a brain-dead girl. They attract religious scholar Sister Josepha, but astrophysicist Richard Massey is licking his wounds: His daughter was murdered by satanists.
