Presidential Debate

The Democratic presidential hopefuls meet at Morgan State University in Baltimore in a forum sponsored by the Congressional Black Caucus and the Fox News Channel. All nine candidates (Carol Moseley Braun, Howard Dean, John Edwards, Dick Gephardt, Bob Graham, John Kerry, Dennis Kucinich, Joseph Lieberman and Rev. Al Sharpton) are expected to appear in the debate, which University of Virginia political scientist Larry Sabato likens to “a joint press conference.” Sabato suggests that they treat it as such. “They've got to impress the press,” Sabato adds, “and get them to carry their messages further.” Brit Hume moderates.
