Sisters Debbie Allen and Phylicia Rashad star as squabbling sisters in "The Old Settler," John Henry Redwood's searing 1997 stage play set in World War II-era Harlem. "Old settler," a period slang term for a spinster with no prospects, neatly defines prim Elizabeth Barney (Rashad).
