Episode Detail: Agatha Christie's Miss Marple: The Body in the Library - Mystery!

“The Body in the Library” of a respectable colonel (James Fox) is that of a young dancer. Good thing his wife (Joanna Lumly) is friends with Miss Marple (Geraldine McEwan). Part 1 of two: The pair begin probing, and soon discover that the victim had recently been legally adopted by a lonely old millionaire (Ian Richardson), who has a number of other potential heirs. Premise: Whodunits, courtroom dramas and suspense tales make up this often brilliant anthology. It features adaptations of tales by myriad classic mystery writers, from Arthur Conan Doyle and Agatha Christie to Dick Francis and John Mortimer, with such notable figures as Sherlock Holmes, Hercule Poirot, Miss Marple, Adam Dalgliesh, Inspector Morse and Rumpole of the Bailey. Among its best episodes are several `Prime Suspect' cases (with Helen Mirren), which have also aired on `Masterpiece Theatre.'
