Tweedy Lancashire housewife-turned-sleuth Hetty Wainthropp (Patricia Routledge) returns to solve six new cases. First up: She's asked to get the goods on a 19-year-old pyromaniac (Darren Tighe), who's terrorizing his neighborhood---and his victims. So Hetty poses as the Irish sister of a woman (Lill Roughly) whose car Lenny has just torched. Her plan: join the local sewing circle and listen to the gossip. But there's a problem: Hetty can't sew.
