Episode Synopsis: A young woman who was friendly with the Shepherds in New York arrives in Seattle and asks Addison to remove her uterus because she's at risk for cancer. But her husband objects because he wants children. And a hospital window washer survives a five-story fall (though the bird he landed on didn't), then begs George and Meredith to find his ex-girlfriend. Elsewhere, Meredith keeps running into Derek; Cristina gets dressed up for a date with Burke; and Bailey complains of being tired. Original Air Date: Nov 13, 2005

Premise: Surgical residents at a Seattle teaching hospital hone their bedside manners on and off the job in this medical drama, which parlayed a cushy initial time slot (post-'Desperate Housewives') and a hefty dollop of sex and romance into immediate success. Indeed, in the opener, intern Meredith Grey sleeps with attending Derek ('McDreamy') Shepherd the night before starting work at Seattle Grace and discovers the next day that he's her boss. Their romantic ups and downs became the series' keystone.
