The Bard meets the Duke in “Play On!” a lively stage adaptation of “Twelfth Night” punctuated by some of Duke Ellington's most enduring standards. It's set in 1940s Harlem and involves an aspiring songwriter (Natalie Venetia Belcon), who dresses as a man to impress a bandleader (Raun Ruffin), who's pining for a sultry singer (Nikki Crawford). Songs include “Take the `A' Train,” “Mood Indigo,” “Don't Get Around Much Anymore” and “Solitude.” Taped in August 1999 at California's Pasadena Playhouse.
