"Models, models and more models." That was pretty much the theme of tonight's episode. For Vincent Chase, even unemployment is interesting and filled with possibility. Shauna capitalized on Vince's best assets and landed him a tidy modeling pay day that required him to pose with gorgeous, underwear-clad models and do little else. It sounded like the perfect gig for our favorite, under-employed, work ethic-challenged actor. Unfortunately, Vince's chemistry with his co-star Natasha did not sit well with her boss, marketing guru Freddy (Jason Isaacs), who promptly fired her and brought in a replacement. (I laughed at Shauna's comparison of models to cockroaches: "Stamp one out and fifty lookalikes show up in their place.") A smitten Vince got an attack of scruples and went directly to Freddy to plead her case, but it turned out to be Vince, and not his co-star, that had actually caught Freddy's eye.

Premise: A young movie star from Queens lives the good life in Hollywood surrounded by his boyhood pals, who shamelessly milk the actor's fame for all it's worth. Modeled on the starstruck experiences of coexecutive producer Mark Wahlberg, this breezy satire has moments of inspiration, with the best bits usually coming from Vince's half-brother, Johnny Drama, a D-list actor, and Ari, the amoral agent whose savagely witty barbs earned Jeremy Piven a well-deserved Supporting Actor Emmy award.
