Episode Detail: Working in a Coal Mine - 30 Days
The third season begins with series creator-host Morgan Spurlock, a West Virginia native, spending 30 days working in a Mountain State coal mine. "It's like going to the moon. And it's so loud," Spurlock says as he enters his new workplace for the first time. He also sees firsthand just how dirty and dangerous coal mining can be, both in the mine and when he accompanies Dale Lusk, his boss (and his roommate for the month), to a local health clinic where they're checked for black-lung disease.
