Episode Detail: The Bunker - Mister Sterling

Sterling's father (James Whitmore), in Washington for a visit, is accused out of the blue of having taken cash bribes when he was governor. He can't prove that he didn't, but the fact that no one can prove that he did doesn't make the crisis any more manageable for his son. Meanwhile, Sterling has been invited to speak at the National Press Club, and must choose a topic. It's an important decision because, as Jackie tells him: "The speech at the Press Club lunheon defines you as a senator."
