A man (John Rubinstein) whom Gideon once treated for cancer returns to the hospital with a mysterious fever and a son (John Pyper Fergeson) who has a chip on his shoulder. Speaking of mysterious, Boies can't figure out what caused a 35-year-old (Lily Knight) to suffer a stroke. Meanwhile, Stiles (Sophie Keller) tells Boies she really needs to take a day off; and the widow (Christine Healy) of a man who died as a result of a series of mistakes by the residents is considering a lawsuit.
