Debut: Andre Braugher (“Homicide: Life on the Street”) stars in this provocative medical drama. Braugher plays Dr. Ben Gideon, the fiercely principled chief of experimental medicine at Boston's Metropolitan General, a prestigious teaching hospital. In the opener, Ben, who's still reeling from his wife's death, from cancer, contends with an arrogant and cynical cancer patient (Bruce McGill), who literally dares Ben to treat him.
