Episode Detail: Pilot Episode - American Dreams
Debut: "American Bandstand" provides the backdrop for this drama about a Philadelphia family struggling to come to grips with the 1960s. It opens in November 1963, with Jack Pryor (Tom Verica) believing he has it all: a house; his own TV store; and two weeks at the shore each summer with his wife (Gail O'Grady) and their five kids. Other members of the family, however, have some issues: son J.J. doesn't want to play football anymore; and daughter Meg wants desperately to dance on "Bandstand."
