Marlee Matlin may have been nixed from the dance floor midway through, but she hasn't missed a beat, announcing that she's writing her memoir. The tome is tentatively titled
I'll Scream Later, and is due out in March '09.
According to a statement from her publisher, an imprint of Simon & Schuster, the actress will discuss "unresolved issues and battles with addiction and abuse, many of which she kept hidden from the public and her family." The publishing house also promises some insights into Matlin's romantic and professional lives, explaining that her book will "delve into her loves and life in Hollywood." In addition to her Oscar-winning role in
Children of a Lesser God, Matlin has appeared in TV series such as
Picket Fences,
The Practice and
The West Wing.
Would you be ready to flip through a memoir from Matlin? And what would prompt her to open up on such personal subjects at this juncture? Maybe she'll tell all in her book.
