Misty May Treanor by Craig Sjodin/ABC
With the kickoff to Dancing with the Stars' seventh season nearly upon us, we thought we'd take a look at how the competitors are shaping up in your eyes.

Olympic gold medalist Misty May-Treanor jumped out as the early favorite. (It's worthwhile to note that fellow Olympian and Season 6 champ Kristi Yamaguchi topped our pre-season poll last year before running away with the competition.)

But it's never wise to count out the appeal of the soap stars, especially when you're dealing with an icon like Susan Lucci, who trails May-Treanor by only 10 percent. Former boy bander Lance Bass rounds out the Top 3.

The full results break down like this:

30% Misty May-Treanor
20% Susan Lucci
10% Lance Bass
8% Cloris Leachman
8% Maurice Greene
4% Brooke Burke
4% Kim Kardashian
4% Cody Linley
3% Ted McGinley
2% Toni Braxton
1% Rocco DiSpirito
1% Warren Sapp
0% Jeff Ross

Our readers' predictions seem to be in line with the oddsmakers at BetOnline.com, with a couple notable exceptions. While May-Treanor is the odds-on favorite there as well, Toni Braxton, who performed poorly in our vote is running a close second with 3-to-1 odds. And while 82-year-old Cloris Leachman is a longshot in the gambler's eyes (50-to-1 odds), she's actually running toward the top of the pack in our poll.

What do you think of these early results? Do you think the fan favorites might stumble when they actually hit the parquet?
