Cheers: SNL's Palin-Clinton: That's the Ticket!

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler/NBC
Cheers to
Saturday Night Live for finding the best possible reason to reunite Tina Fey and Amy Poehler: a hysterical opening sketch. The ex-"Weekend Update" coanchors and
Baby Mama costars brilliantly lampooned Sarah Palin and Hillary Clinton. (Clinton: "I believe that diplomacy should be the cornerstone of any foreign policy." Palin: "And I can see Russia from my house.") Never known as a mimic in her pre-
30 Rock days, Fey nailed Palin's
Fargo-esque patois, while Poehler, who'll soon leave
SNL to give birth to a child - and her own NBC sitcom - impressively filled Clinton's pantsuit. Their appearance drowned out the hype around guest host Michael Phelps. The best that can be said of the Olympic swimmer is that he didn't embarrass himself. Kinda like Palin's interview with Charlie Gibson.
