How I Met Your Mother for booking a brilliant guest star: Sarah Chalke. Oh, Britney Spears was on, too, and she was fine in her relatively minor role as a ditzy receptionist. But as Stella, a dermatologist who removed the butterfly "tramp stamp" from Ted's back, Chalke - reportedly a last-minute replacement for Alicia Silverstone - displayed real chemistry with Josh Radnor. (Not surprisingly, the
Scrubs doc looked totally comfortable in her white coat.) CBS' on-the-bubble sitcom deftly used Spears' publicity-generating gig to lure viewers for a key episode that may have finally introduced us to the titular mother. Did you catch the hint about how Stella went to a St. Patrick's Day party? And how charming was Ted's "two-minute date" (all shot in one take, no less)? To quote Barney, it... was... legendary!
