We just wrapped shooting the first episode of Season 5, and Love did an incredible job directing it! It's challenging to direct the premiere of any show on network TV, let alone one that you actually star in and executive-produce as well! Congrats, Love! If you want to see her in action, check out Love's Directing Journal, which we created for the last episode she directed in Season 4. We promise, you'll get to see, on-line, Love directing the premiere of Season 5 as we get closer to the broadcast date — Friday, Sept. 25, at 8 pm.
The Ghost Whisperer music department is tenacious in casting the nets for great indie music that speaks to the message in each episode. Next season will showcase some great new independent talent sure to become household names. Among the many artists featured last season, we want to give a shout-out to singer/songwriter Josh Arnold. His song, "Skeletons," was featured in "Delusions of Grandview" (Episode 417). Josh was interviewed here about "Skeletons" being featured on Ghost Whisperer. And, Josh, we love you're your music!
For the past couple of weeks, we've been buzzing about Ghost Whisperer coming to Comic-Con 2009. Cast Autograph Signing
A limited number of tickets will be distributed by Comic-Con for this special opportunity in which you can meet Jennifer Love Hewitt, David Conrad, Camryn Manheim, Jamie Kennedy and Christoph Sanders. Visit the IDW Booth #1705 for details on the day. Along with Ghost Whisperer cast photos, the cast will also sign a special collector's edition cover of the IDW comic book Ghost Whisperer: The Muse — a Comic-Con exclusive. The cast can't wait to meet you!

Ghost Whisperer Fan Panel
You can hear directly from Love, David, Camryn, Jamie, Christoph, P.K. and us, you'll have an opportunity to ask questions, and you'll get an exclusive first look at video clips from the new season. There will be hints and revelations about the game-changing addition of Melinda and Jim's new baby and how it will bring new powers, new challenges and new rules to the show — and open doors to a whole new paranormal dimension. We'll also talk about the "Ghost Whisperer Total Engagement Experience" — that's a windy way of saying that we'll share with you what we're adding to the "playground" that enables you to create your own Ghost Whisperer experience on lots of different platforms including the Internet, music, mobile, interactive DVD special features, publishing, video games and much more. FYI: The moderator for the panel is the very dynamic Jevon Phillips of the Los Angeles Times.
Ghost Whisperer Trading Cards
Breygent Marketing, CBS Consumer Products and Ghost Whisperer are releasing Ghost Whisperer Trading Cards for you to collect. They will be available at Comic-Con, and next week we'll give you details on where you can get them on the convention floor. Breygent has created a set encompassing Seasons 1 and 2 that includes a 72-card base set, over 22 different Costume Cards, other special subsets, and Special Collector's Cards featuring autographs by the Ghost Whisperer cast. The cards are truly beautiful and have lots of special features attached like pieces of Melinda and the ghosts' wardrobe. You'll dig this.
Ghost Whisperer Collectible Posters and Pins
Throughout the day, the Ghost Whisperer Street Team will distribute IDW/Legacy Interactive posters and collectible pins — while supplies last. In this week's wonderful Ghost Whisperer episode, "Pieces of You," Melinda unlocks the secret of an old forgotten wishing well that is haunted by a mysterious young ghost. And when Sam/ Jim makes a wish at the haunted well, the repercussions threaten the delicate balance of his new relationship with Melinda.
"Pieces of You" is a beautifully haunting script written by our very talented executive producer, Laurie McCarthy, and directed by our visionary director of photography, Jim Chressanthis.
This episode guest stars Kyle Howard (My Boys), Jess Head (Summerland), Isabella Hofmann (Boston Legal), Jerry O'Donnell (Mad Men) and Isabelle Fuhrman (who starred in the film Hounddog with series regular Christoph Sanders. Yep, they're pals.)
Musically, this episode features U.K. chart-topping band The Script (Sony BMG), Grammy nominee and platinum-selling singer Dido's hit song "Quiet Times" (RCA), and indie artists Sounds of Sulphur ("For a Friend") and Adrianne ("10,000 Stones").
