You Are My Partner
The summer finale episode, "You Are My Partner," was the toughest for me. I had to go to a very dark place with Holly's character, who was trying her hardest to understand and have patience with Ham. It was draining and very emotionally upsetting.
The episode deals with the lowest point Ham could hit without losing everything in his life and while investigating a racially driven murder. I had my two real sisters from Vermont and Utah and my nieces and nephews staying with me while I taped episode, just by coincidence. Gary Randall, our executive producer, directed it, and he was wonderful.
Also in the episode, I got "full monty," I think, three times - but that's a whole other deal!
