Show Biz Hits Close to Home

Hello, Office freaks and fans. It has been another interesting week on The Office for those of us who are lucky enough to get to be a part of this show. Last night we all went to the opening of Rainn's new movie, The Last Mimzy. It was great that the whole cast could be there (sans Steve). Rainn was so great. He is such a great actor. He makes it look very easy. We had a great time at the party afterwards. It's a kid's movie and there were kids there and they loved Rainn when he was on screen. So did the adults.

Back to The Office. We are shooting like crazy these days. I am sworn to secrecy so I can't say much. We've been on location and in cars a lot the past few weeks. It's been fun and exhausting.

Life's getting a little weird. Get this: They are shooting a pilot in my building this week. What does that mean? Well, now it is show business 24/7! Complete with trailers, trucks honey wagons, security, P.A.'s, A.D.'s, walkies and craft service. Weird. (It's not an NBC pilot so I won't plug it. I've become so loyal to NBC.)
Pilots are strange beasts. I was not in the pilot of The Office. Did you know that I replaced someone who was cut out? The last pilot I did was for The WB and it was called Fresh Meat. It was not about a butcher. I wonder why it didn't fly. Do you miss The WB?

I hate change. If this pilot goes, I wonder if they will be shooting all the time in my building. Yikes. That would be inconvenience. Show business has to go to bed at night. I am not Sharon Osborne or the late Anna Nicole Smith. No reality show for this redhead. I am so glad my character's name is Meredith and not Kate. Now Creed, Oscar, Angela and Phyllis have a heavy burden. I am free as a bird. I am not an alcoholic but I play one on TV.

This week, I am excited because Phyllis and I are presenting at the Genesis Awards for the prevention of animal cruelty. I think it airs on Animal Planet sometime soon. Check your local listings. I hope the teleprompter has big print. I have borrowed a dress from Sue Wong and jewelry from Erica Courtney. Not too shabby.

As for The Office on air, we are still in rerun hell. We're back on track April 5 with the next new episode of the Office. None of this "newpeat" crap. Thanks for hanging in there.
