Hello, folks!!First of all, thank you for the positive comments. I hope to continue the dialogue and answer any questions you might have as the Hidden Palms story unfolds. Sooooo... how about that pilot?! Johnnys in re-hab and all is not good at home and mom married too fast and the kids in the neighborhood are weird (Cliff) and/or sexy (Greta) or sexy and weird (Liza, aka garage girl) and the boy who used to live in Johnnys room is dead. OK? Up to speed???Oh, and nows probably a good time to mention the amazing music. The shows got a smokin' soundtrack that sounds fabulous with everything going on. Makes everything really come together nicely. Job well done to the people behind the sound! So in the upcoming episode much more is revealed. In general, we start to get more into the lives of these people and deeper into their relationships both new and old.For instance:1. Johnny finds out something about the house they just moved into that will get the volume r...

Traveler's summer run has officially begun and, like you guys, I'm enjoying the ride so far. This show has been a labor of love for the people who made it, and it's great to see the show find such a devoted fan base after just two episodes. The fact that so many of you have started forming theories about Will Traveler and the Drexler Bombing has me fired up about where the show is heading. This interaction is one of the great hallmarks of the "cloak-and-dagger" genre, where individuals are placed into situations where their actions become representative of entire governments and political climates. And the audience starts asking what they would do if they were in that situation. Whom would you trust? How would you react? And most importantly for Traveler, where would you run? I was watching a great show on the History Channel this week called Star Wars: The Legacy Revealed. (OK, OK. Now that I've admitted to being a Lost and Star Wars fan, you might be picturing me as a dude who sp...

I am so excited about the June 4 Ex-Wives Club [Mondays at 9 pm/ET, on ABC]! My daughter Tiffany (who's 13 years old now) and I previewed the episode together, and let me tell you how wonderful it was to share huge laughs and also have tears of empathy and joy streaming down our faces at the same time. It is so great to be part of a show that the whole family can enjoy together and get to experience those special moments! This episode in particular is so special to me because Tina, our female participant, and I formed such a huge bond from the very beginning. She is from New York, which happens to be where I spent 15 very important years growing up, and she also is an actress. When I called to tell her she had been picked to be on our show, she cried and said she had watched me on TV since she was a little girl and had always wanted us to meet. Who says there's no such thing as fate? She had seen me go through a lot of joy and pain in the media, and I think she could relate to so muc...

Hello, again! I thought that since the show was premiering this week, it might be time to share some stories about shooting it. We all arrived at a fabulous hotel in Palm Springs called The Parker and started in on the various activities one does before starting to shoot something. You know, this one has to get his/her hair cut (that is always me), this one needs to consult with wardrobe and that one needs to talk to the director about their "character." Thats something that usually sends most directors running for the hills, by the way. As is very often the case with most projects, there was not really a lot of time to get to know everybody. There was a very nice meet and greet dinner, but a lot of us were still very much strangers during the first few days of shooting which can lead to some strange interchanges. For example, on the very first day of shooting, Gail OGrady and I were scheduled to shoot a scene in which her son (my step-son), Johnny, catches us making ...

Hello there, good people, and thanks for checking out the blog! I have gotten a few comments and I just want to say that I appreciate the compliments both on the blog and on my previous work. It means a lot to me that people out there have followed my career. But more than that, I want to say your budding enthusiasm for Hidden Palms is fully justified. I think you guys are gonna love it! My first blog was a little indulgent insofar as it chronicled my personal experiences associated with getting to work on Hidden Palms. So now Im going to be a little more generous and talk about the basic premise of the show, the experience of shooting the pilot and, of course, my fellow cast-mates. So let the dirt-slinging begin! So some of you have asked about the premise of Hidden Palms. Its a classic coming-of-age story, unique to our times and distinctive in that it comes wrapped in the particularly arch intelligence of a Kevin Williamson project. Those of you who have never seen o...

First off, I'd like to thank the nearly 9 million people who tuned in to Traveler's May 10 sneak preview. You guys made Traveler one of the most successful May sweeps premieres of all time. And a special thanks goes to those fans who have checked out the blog and left comments. I read all of them. In fact, Ranger99's comment from May 4, in which he asked about the number of episodes, has inspired this blog entry. So, what's with this post's title? Well, it turns out the creator of Traveler, yours truly, is also a huge fan of another ABC serialized thriller: Lost. I just finished watching the Lost Season 3 finale, and it got me thinking about what makes good TV. Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse (Lost's executive producers) and company have an unparalleled knack for blowing our collective mind. This season finale delivered. It was fantastic. It not only answered a few huge questions, but it also raised a new question to drive the series forward. So why then have Damon, Carlton and Co. ...

Welcome to my first blog. I have been sitting in front of my computer thinking of what to say that will make me sound profound, intelligent, funny and interesting. I have reached the conclusion that I am neither intelligent, profound, funny nor interesting. Oh well, instead, I'll just tell you a little bit about my week. I spent a lot of time at CBS Television City, where The Young and the Restless is filmed. I am immersed in a really fun storyline for the summer. Tune in, it will be a hoot. I will tease you with this: Kevin inadvertently gets embroiled in some misdeeds that may land him in some hot water. I had a lot of fun this past week working with Michael Graziadei (Daniel) and Adrienne Frantz (Amber). The Grove is right next door to the studio, so I'd walk over for lunch to feed my ever growing green tea addiction. Here's an inside tip to any fans of the show visiting Los Angeles: Go to The Grove between the hours of 1 and 3 pm and you are bound to run into a gaggle of Y...

The first episode of Ex-Wives Club is one that I am particularly fond of because not only do we help our "man and woman of the week," but we throw a car out of a plane at 10,000 feet! The premise of the show is that we are trying to help a man and a woman get through what can be one of the hardest experiences of a lifetime: a divorce. These people were left broken and hurt, mad and sad, among many other emotions. How many of you out there can relate to a heart ache? All of us, right? We as humans seem to grow when we are in pain what is up with that? What about growth when there is no pain? But that is a topic for a whole other show! So back to the first episode of Ex-Wives
.Debbie Ford puts them through a two-day, very intense crash course of what they did wrong in their relationship and what to do to get over it. I am talking hard-core, people she tells it how it is. (I love that, by the way.) Then Marla, Shar, and I take over and give each person what they need...

So, a blog. Is it a blog, or is it a blogg? One sounds worse than the other. The connotations that spring from this word are endless. I saw a movie once called The Blob. I wonder if that is where the word's derived from. Is it an acronym for something else? I am so not pop-culture, it's scary. By the way, I am Rick Hearst, or Ric Lansing from General Hospital ... You know, Sonny's brother. There you go, now you got a picture, right?I have wondered to myself what to write on this particular "blog." Is it a journal? A travelogue? A spewfest? As I write this, I am currently on a two-week leave from GH due to a throat condition that required surgery. All is well, but writing is my only immediate form of communication other than jumping up and down and waving my arms. Every day is like a bad game of charades. I thought, "What a great time to learn sign language." Yeah, right. I feel it's always better to contort your mouth to accommodate for the lack of sound. It sure is more entertain...

The drunken red-headed Meredith here from the corner desk of Dunder-Mifflin with my Season 3 wrap-up. I've had great fun writing the weak, I mean weekly Office blog. I am so shocked and pleased that people actually read this and comment. In my comments I've heard from: old friends, high school and college friends, friends I haven't spoken to in years and years, new friends, as well as people I've met in the grocery store or fans who saw me in Philadelphia on a train, or in Kentucky at a restaurant. Not to mention MySpace crossover fans and new Office fans. Thank god people get to give me their two-cents here or I would have gotten way off track very sarcastic, angry, mean-spirited, you know? Like when I used to write my "morning pages." Did anyone else do The Artist's Way? How about the Official Bartender's Guide Book? Now that's good reading.I had such a blast this season on set and off. Winning an Emmy award for Best Comedy and a SAG award for Best Comedy Ensemble ...
