In honor of Veterans Day we are hosting a special in collaboration with the Entertainment Industry Foundation. We're so excited for this opportunity to partner with them as well as multi-platinum recording artist Jewel. It's so important to be able to make a difference for those who have given so much for our freedom and since today is Veterans Day, we have the opportunity to do just that.

Week 8 started with an unpredictable first in Biggest Loser history: We, the trainers, were to choose one person from our teams to represent our entire team at the weigh-in. We all knew the importance of this decision and none of us took it lightly.
The week was pretty difficult for some of the contestants, particularly the Blue Team's Sunny and Ramone. Ramone felt hurt and betrayed by his team's decision last week to eliminate his girlfriend Jessica and Sunny lost her drive. I think she was mentally and emotionally exhausted so in turn it affected her physically. After genuine words of encouragement from Anna, both teammates bounced back and pushed forward. It's OK and completely normal to experience unexpected setbacks but don't allow it to throw you off course. Take a deep breath, meditate on your goals, and get back on track to a successful you.

Okay gang, this week we are in Franklin County, Kansas in a beautiful little town called Ottawa. It's a lovely little place and we're here to help the Hill family: Mom, Gina, and her two sons, Makale and little Dreyson. It really should be a family of four because dad, Allen, should be with them, but, for the last year, he's been over on the West Coast in California, receiving very much needed therapeutic help for a very serious condition that he got when he was serving in the Iraq War.

Week 7 on The Biggest Loser was centered on nutrition, a vital area that the majority of people are misinformed in. I'll get back to this topic, but first things first: I know the suspense of this week's changes kept many of you on the edge of your seat...or were you just doing dips? ;) Hopefully both! Anyway, it was finally revealed that the teams were about to change and the contestants would be choosing their trainers. It was based on a calorie counting challenge so some contestants were paired with their trainer by default. The challenge was a wake up call for everyone on the ranch as well as viewers at home. All I have to say is "chocolate" and "gravy" do not belong in the same sentence let alone together in a dish, come on Vinny! That being said now is the perfect time to reevaluate your favorite foods and create healthier versions. You don't have to deprive yourself of delicious and great tasting food you only need to change your mindset. I showed my semi-new Red Team how to prepare alternate options of the high-calorie dishes they once devoured. You can visit NBC.com for the recipes I made.

Hi everyone!
Hope you're doing well! Thank you for voting for us!
Sorry for not blogging last week — we got tied up in rehearsals. It was tough since it was the first week with two dances, so I guess there's twice as much to cover now.
So let's just get down to Monday night. First off, I want to say that I really do feel blessed and privileged to be part of the show. This is my family. This is something I have dedicated myself to for the last six years of my life and I'm definitely not taking it for granted. It's something ...

Week 6 was an All Hallows' Eve theme!
The contestants were met with a big cauldron filled with candy and they all seemed mesmerized by it. They were told for every pound of candy consumed, a one-pound advantage would be given at weigh-in. The teams also learned they must collectively lose 100 pounds to stay another week and avoid elimination. That would average out to 10 pounds per person.

Week 5 on the ranch started with an opportunity for one contestant to go home for a week with their trainer and receive immunity too! The only catch was their weigh-in would be the only one that counted for their team. Sunny was chosen by sheer luck and although everyone was excited not to be chosen, the Black Team had concerns and reservations about how Sunny would perform. While Sunny and Bob were away in Texas, the Black Team struggled amongst each other and it affected the unity of their team.

Okay friends, this week we are just outside of New York City in a beautiful place called Orange County. We're visiting the Korpai family, which is made up of dad, Jimmy, mom, Darlene, and two children, Hailey and Hudson, who live in a small town called Crawford. The family's story is actually a story we have never covered on any of our builds. It's really about the daughter, Hailey. She suffers from a condition called Acondroplasia, which is a very common form of dwarfism.

Hi everyone,
Hope you're well! Thanks for voting for us!
We have the tango next week and rehearsals are going great so far. It is '80s week and I didn't really want to incorporate anything, but producers insisted. I mean, an '80s tango just sounds weird. But I have a good idea and a good story.
I thought Hope did an amazing job with the foxtrot. She was great and we're ...

I want to start by saying how much I appreciate everyone's great feedback on the show!
As I watch along with America, I too am amazed at the production of such a phenomenal show. They truly display the episodes in a way that feels like you're right there on the ranch with everyone.
