The Closer Creator James Duff Talks Season Finale

It seems somehow fitting that we end our season about change by examining what happens to people when they refuse to accept it. But before we go into the ins and outs of this specific episode, I owe a few congratulations to our cast.

First, I speak for everyone here at The Closer when I congratulate Kyra Sedgwick on her Golden Globe nomination as Best Actress in a Drama Series. For the fifth year in a row, Kyra also got a nom from her peers at the Screen Actors Guild in the same category, making her five for five as an invited guest at both ceremonies. read more

Ghost Whisperer Producers Look Back on 2009

Hello,

This has been a historic week as we filmed the 100th episode of Ghost Whisperer! On Monday, the studio and network recognized our 100th milestone with a Ghost Whisperer-themed cake and champagne celebration on Village Square. The entire cast and crew was there to celebrate the occasion. We received  touching congratulatory remarks from CBS Entertainment President Nina Tassler, Jennifer Love Hewitt, P.K. Simonds and even John Gray spoke to us live from New York through the power of... read more

Rocky Carroll: I Want to Hear from the NCIS Fans

NCIS

Greetings,

It's been a while! I wanted to say hello and happy holidays to all. My last entry on this site was over six months ago...hard to believe. Needless to say, I've been a bit busy.

Hopefully, there are still a few of you who used to read my weekly entries. I hope you're still out there. To you, I say hello again. I've missed writing to you and reading your responses. Between taking care of my mother (she's doing ok, for those of you who remember) and working on both NCIS shows, I've had very little time to do much else. I really wanted to reconnect with you. It's been quite a season, so far.

The Closer Creator James Duff Previews "Make Over"

It is cliché to point out that each of us must play many roles in life: father, mother, brother, sister, wife, husband, student, professional. But these are only parts of a greater whole, bits and pieces of a mirrored mosaic we must continually rearrange in hopes of catching a brief, fractured glimpse of our own reflection. In our next case, Beau Bridges plays Det. George Andrews, Provenza's old partner, who returns to help Major Crimes close a case that was overturned on appeal. And, quite suddenly, settling on a true identity becomes not only the key to solving a mystery, but a personal crisis for Lt. Provenza. Who we are can also depend, somewhat, on how others see us.

In keeping with the more experimental nature of our three-episode winter season, character matters almost as much as the crime. We spend a lot of time learning new things about the curmudgeonly Lt. Provenza, such as his first name, what his living room looks like and how he feels about certain surgical procedures.

The Closer Creator James Duff Previews Winter Season

Jon Tenney and Kyra Sedgwick, The Closer

Change can be both necessary and extremely hard to accept, especially when we have a say in the matter. If you don't believe in destiny, it's possible sometimes to escape it, but the required effort can seem almost worse than the fate we're trying to avoid.

In our more experimental winter season, Brenda starts out even more resistant to change than usual, especially when Fritz confronts her with a little rescue kitten named Joel. To the unpracticed eye, Joel might appear irresistible; to the scarred heart of Brenda Leigh Johnson, however, the tiny orange-and-white kitten looks less like change and more like the repetition of a journey that ended with her beloved Kitty's ashes in an urn on the mantle. Saying no to Joel's cute, little face might seem difficult, but Brenda believes she has a choice in the matter. Fritz employs some interesting relationship maneuvers in an attempt to convince her otherwise. The past does not necessarily dictate the future... read more

Ghost Whisperer Producers Discuss "Save Our Souls"

Hi!

We hope everyone had a happy, healthy, safe Thanksgiving.
Over holiday weekend, we aired one of our favorite Ghost Whisperer episodes, "Save Our Souls."

In this episode, Melinda (Jennifer Love Hewitt) and Jim (David Conrad) take a romantic cruise, where Melinda stumbles on a ghost who wreaks havoc on a newlywed couple. Filmed on location aboard the historical and luxurious ocean liner HRS, Queen Mary, (which we affectionately dubbed the "Queen Scary") this episode takes Ghost Whisperer on a high sea adventure.  Since the vessel that we shot on has not been out to sea in several years, our visual effects gurus (Armen and Art and their amazing team) did a dynamic job is making the ship look sea-worthy and way cool.  Please take a behind-the-scenes look at the total VFX process within "Save Our Souls" (and  "Ghost In The Machine" which they also did lots of creative work on.

Dancing's Maks Predicts Donny for the Win, Says Dmitry "Dropped the Ball"

Maksim Chmerkovskiy

Hi everyone,

Thanks again for your comments. Let's get right down to it, shall we?

I've gotten a lot of reactions about my tweet last night about Mya and Dmitry's paso doble looking similar to mine and Mel's. There is no way I'm going to get out of this sounding like an angel, but that dance was copied. I'm flattered, but contrary to what people think, I am not upset about it and don't look it in a negative light. It was a fantastic dance and I didn't say anything derogatory about it. Mel called me yesterday and I got messages from thousands of people on Twitter about it. Mel loved it! We both loved it! They did their thing. I was like, "Bam! Awesome!" Mya's an incredible dancer and it was a well-deserved 30. To my and Mel's supporters who are mad, don't take it personally. To everybody who's mad about my tweet and think ...

Dancing's Maks Says the Pressure's on Donny, Wants a Radio Show

Maksim Chmerkovskiy

Hi everyone,

Thanks again for all of your comments. It's been such a long season. Can you believe it's the finals now?

From what I see, what I know and what the little birdie told me, the pressure is all on Donny. I was saying all along — and I think everyone has been saying all along — that this guy is going to be in the finals. He's in the finals now, but what is he going do? Kym has been in the finale before and I think she is going to try to outdo herself and will pull out some things for the freestyle.

It's kind of been a theme of this show that the freestyle wins the competition. I don't know what it is about it. There's where Gilles lost it last season. I don't know what happened with Mel and me. I've never heard a negative comment about our freestyle — even the judges liked it. It was hip-hoppy but we did get a perfect score, so I don't know. Still, it's been a ...
