Set in World War II Poland, this earnest drama stars Haley Joel Osment as Romek, a 12-year-old Jewish boy dispatched to the countryside to live with a family of Catholic peasants in the hope of saving him from the Nazis. Passed off as a nephew whose parents have fallen ill, Romek is befriended by a parish priest (Willem Dafoe) who tutors him on Catholic catechism. But the horrors of war are never far away as Romek adapts to his new life.

WHERE ARE THE CHILDREN? explores the tragic issues of child abduction and abuse. Nancy Eldridge Oill Clayburgh) is a young mother faced with the nightmarish disappearance of her children. After being wrongly convicted of murdering her son and daughter from a previous marriage, Nancy's new life is once again tom apart when her second family vanishes. Her husband, Clay Eldridge (Max Gail) has blind faith in his frightened wife and eventually Nancy gains the necessary inner strength to get her children back. WHERE ARE THE CHILDREN? is a highly-personal drama of a woman's love, courage and faith in the face of one of today's most heinous crimes-the kidnap of children.

Two children are kidnapped and held for ransom by a madman. Soon, however, the childrens' father begins to suspect that their mother may possibly have had something to do with the crime.
