Based on an actual Civil War incident, The Horse Soldiers tells the rousing tale of a troop of Union soldiers who force their way deep into Southern territory to destroy a rebel stronghold at Newton Station. In command is hardbitten Colonel Marlowe (Wayne), a man who is strikingly contrasted by the company's gentle surgeon (Holden) and the beautiful but crafty Southern belle (Constance Towers) who's forced to accompany the Union raiders on perhaps the most harrowing mission in the war.
James Garner, in one his earliest starring roles, is Lt. J.G. Kenneth M. Braden, and elite U.S. solder during World War II. After being reluctantly pulled away from a week-long romance, Braden is given the dangerous mission of infiltrating a Japanese-held island. He must scuba ashore, and alone behind enemy lines, capture a top secret radio code before escaping to an awaiting U.S. submarine.
A navy lieutenant (James Garner "Maverick") during World War II is ordered aboard a submarine to get special photographs of a Japanese-controlled island.
John wayne, Constance Towers and William Holden star in this 1863, fact-based story about a Union mission to destroy a railroad junction deep within Confederate territory.
