Riding near the Arizona town of Moody River, renegade cop and bounty hunter Reno Raines defends a black farmer, Calvin Moses (WILLIAM ALLEN YOUNG), from attack by a gang of masked hoodlums. Their leader is an arrogant young bigot, Jed Johnson (ED BEECHNER). Reno learns that Calvin's farm commune, called "Second Chance," is a multi-racial clan of former convicts and their families, trying to buy the mortgage on their cultivated land.
